| Method | With the subject standing, the examiner stands behind him or her with the thumbs on the posterior superior iliac spines. The examiner then notes whether the posterior superior iliac spines are level. Unleveling is indicative of sacroiliac joint fixation or one side or the other. The examiner may also perform the test while the subject actively flexes each hip one at a time. |
